Obituary

Everything.js set out to be the last web framework its author would ever need. It began as forty lines that wrapped an HTTP server.

Then it needed a router. The router needed dependency injection, the injection needed decorators, and the decorators needed a build step, which the framework also provided. A documentation site was started before version 0.1.

No application was ever built on it. The final commit, on 21 June 2019, renamed the core package for the fourth time.

What it taught me

A framework extracted from zero applications solves zero problems. Build the application first, twice.
