Obituary
Night Porter was an uptime monitor. Every sixty seconds it asked four servers whether they were still there and wrote the answer to a table.
It was written over one summer between jobs, and it was the main exhibit in three interviews. The third interview went well.
The first day at the new job was 17 August 2015. Alerts were never built, so when Night Porter itself went down, nothing noticed.
What it taught me
The side project got me the job that ended the side project. I count that as shipped.
