Obituary
Kindness Chain let anyone add one sentence about a kind thing they did or would do that day, with no signup and no wallet. Each sentence became a memo transaction on Solana devnet that carried the signature of the link before it.
It was built in Go for the DEV Weekend Challenge: Generosity Edition, September 4 to 7, 2026. For every confirmed link its author pledged $0.10 to the International Institute of Minnesota, up to $50.
The pledge was settled on 14 September 2026, at 21 links and $2.10. The repository was last pushed that day.
What it taught me
SQLite is the source of truth and Solana is the public proof. Nothing about a link is invented by the chain writer.
